What is your favorite project you worked on and why?
The MATCH Charter School in Hyde Park.聽 The construction method used for the buildings, modular construction, was new to many of the parties involved.聽 This created not only a learning opportunity for the project team but also required an environment for open collaboration. Project challenges were overcome together.聽 Even after adjusting to overcome a record 108鈥 of snowfall that year, the campus was completed on schedule for school to begin on time. There were strong relationships formed that remain in-tact today!

How did you get into construction?
My education was in the field of architecture.聽 After a brief career in architecture, I decided I wanted to become part of the construction team to help communicate design intent and construction methods to others.聽 Too often, the design is sacrificed for budget, though I believe that through educated and responsible construction management, design goals and project budget can be achieved.

Who or what inspires you?
A few things come to mind.聽 My family, of course.聽 I鈥檝e always been inspired by my father and his work ethic.聽 He held a high standard of being thorough and meticulous.聽 No matter the task or project, it was always about taking your time and doing things the 鈥渞ight way,鈥 and not just simply checking them off the list.聽 His mantra, 鈥渕easure twice, cut once,鈥 will always be stuck in my head! There鈥檚 also the daily inspiration that comes from risk.聽 When there鈥檚 a risk of failure, there鈥檚 a greater opportunity for creativity and originality.聽 Risk also creates an environment where I鈥檝e seen individuals grow and develop the most.聽 The opportunities that are made by getting out of your comfort zone and starting something new each day is what inspires me.

What is one thing on your bucket list and will you accomplish it?
I鈥檝e always wanted to ski the Swiss Alps.聽 One of these days, I absolutely will accomplish it!
